Amber Arc

The design of Amber Arc began with a simple wish — to create a home that carries the warmth and ease of a café. The owners envisioned a space where daily rituals could unfold at a slower rhythm, where each corner feels grounded yet quietly expressive. Our approach was to translate that vision into a spatial language defined by warmth, tactility and flow.
The existing layout was reinterpreted to form clearer zones while maintaining a seamless connection between them. The former dining area was transformed into a dry kitchen anchored by a terracotta-toned island — a bold yet comforting gesture that immediately sets the tone of the space. This warm hue is balanced by light oak textures and grey terrazzo surfaces, forming a palette that feels both natural and familiar. Gentle curves in the arched openings leading to the wet kitchen and dining area soften the architectural edges, introducing a sense of continuity and calm.
To encourage interaction, a serving hatch connects the dry kitchen with the new dining room, once an enclosed bedroom. This subtle opening allows conversation and light to pass through, blurring the threshold between cooking and dining, activity and stillness. The dining space, though intimate, carries an openness that invites shared meals, quiet work, or moments of pause, echoing the spirit of a neighbourhood café.
In contrast, the master suite shifts to a darker, more tactile palette to evoke the intimacy of a private retreat. Deep timber tones, brushed brass details and soft lighting reference the quiet luxury of a boutique hotel. A compact walk-in wardrobe and an expanded bathroom continue this narrative — reconfigured to feature dry and wet separation, with dark tiles, a sculptural countertop basin and carefully layered lighting to heighten spatial serenity.
Amber Arc is a home where every surface, curve and transition was designed to feel lived-in yet refined — a quiet balance where the warmth of a café meets the stillness of a sanctuary.
