The Horizon Path

The Horizon Path is a residence thoughtfully shaped by the natural contours of a corner plot. The architecture responds to the site’s conditions, stretching and unfolding across the land to create a living experience that is both grounded and open.

At the furthest edge of the site, the kitchen is extended into a linear form that echoes the horizon, anchoring the rear of the home. A central glass corridor links this extension to the original structure, framed by full-height glazing on both sides. As one walks through this passage, daylight floods in while lush greenery brushes past—creating a quiet yet immersive transition. The family dog often runs through this light-filled path, becoming an endearing part of the daily rhythm.

The outdoor terrace, a key element of the owner’s lifestyle, is designed as a breezy retreat. Supported by three stone-clad pillars, the roof floats lightly above the space, with one section intentionally left open to welcome direct sunlight and sky views. This subtle opening invites moments of stargazing or afternoon lounging, reinforcing a seamless connection to nature.

Inside, the living room features a travertine display wall that balances raw texture with quiet elegance. Natural materials—travertine, timber veneer, and stone—are layered throughout to create a warm, calming atmosphere that extends beyond the walls. The wet kitchen is slightly elevated to enrich spatial rhythm, while darker hues anchor the mood as one moves into this secondary space. When the bi-fold kitchen doors are fully opened, the interior dissolves into the outdoors, enhancing a sense of openness and fluidity.

Every design gesture—from material choices to circulation—honors the land it sits upon. This home doesn’t impose itself; it traces, respects, and unfolds gently along the terrain.
